1969

Established in 1969, the Islamic Foundation of Toronto is one of the oldest Muslim organizations in Canada. From a small building on Rhodes Avenue, the Islamic Foundation grew over the years into one of the foremost Muslim institutions.

1995

In 1992, a majestic masjid of white stone, accompanied by a copper-clad dome and 125 feet tall minaret was built, capturing the best in Islamic architecture and solidifying the Muslim presence in Canada. The Foundation quickly became a hub uniting Muslims in the Greater Toronto Area.

Today

The 53,000 sq. ft building houses spacious prayer halls for brothers and sisters, a gymnasium for our youth to stay active and to hold special events, a library with religious texts and research items, and a mortuary to perform funeral rites for the deceased.
